Instructional Technology

I found creating and setting up an account to be simple.  I will probably take the time to mess around with some of the more advanced features but, I had no difficulty in creating these blogs.  I did, however, find coming up with something to write to be a little more challenging than I expected.  I am also not sure how I feel about the public forum but I am willing to give it a try.

When teaching online there is a wonderful opportunity for an educator to enrich their students learning or to completely fail them.  This is where the instructional technology comes into save the online classroom.  When applied in a carefully planned and meticulous manner, online technology, like, wikis, blogs, YouTube, Second Life, etc., are great sources for learning enrichment.  The technology is flexible and encourages creativity.  It also allows for, my personal favorite, worldwide connection, interaction, and collaboration.  While these tools can be applied in the traditional class setting and greatly increase student learning there, it is a necessity for creating an effective online learning environment.
